Pancakes with the Principals/Christmas Reading Challenge

Oakland came in second place in the district for the Christmas Reading Challenge, with Carlisle Foster's Grove taking the first place prize.  We are proud of our students for reading a total of
130,100 minutes!  Way to go, All-Stars!  Also, congratulations to the following classes; they averaged the most minutes read per student on each grade level:
5K: Ryan
1st: McMahon
2nd: Wise
3rd: Jones
4th: Johnson
These classes received a trophy for their efforts and also enjoyed "Pancakes with the Principals" this morning!  Yummy!

MakerSpace/Library Updates

Thank you again for your help in making our Boosterthon fundraiser such a success!  Items for our MakerSpace stations in the library have begun to arrive.  Within the next few weeks, students will be able to start exploring and creating in the library at the following stations: Legos, duct tape, Makey Makey invention kits, puzzles, and arts & crafts.  We are looking forward to using these materials as we tinker, create, and expand our horizons!  We have also added wheels to some bookshelves and purchased lounger cushions where students can relax and read a book!
