Clemson Wins the Challenge!

Clemson/Carolina Challenge

Clemson raised the most money in the challenge (all $ raised went to Relay for Life), so the Carolina fans received a pie in the face this afternoon!  Over $1000 was raised!  Way to go, All Stars!

Pumpkin Book Characters

Check out these awesome pumpkins created by our classes at Oakland!  Students decorated a pumpkin based on a book character and have voted all week for their favorite.  All proceeds go to Relay for Life, and the class that raises the most money wins a smoothie party.

MONSTER Book Fair - Going On NOW!

Our fall Book Fair is in full swing!  We will be open today (Tuesday) until 5:00 during Parent/Teacher Conferences.  We will also be open on Wednesday and Thursday until lunchtime.
The monster theme for this book fair has been really fun.  Students created their own unique monsters to decorate the doorway.  The monsters have a "be drug-free" slogan on them since next week is Red Ribbon Week.  Enjoy the pictures!

Monster Book Fair... Coming Soon!

Oakland Elementary Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held at OES Monday, October 19 through Thursday, October 22 in the Media Center.  Each classroom will be visiting the Book Fair for 25 minutes.  The schedule is listed below.  The Book Fair will also be open from 2 – 5 pm on Tuesday afternoon (Parent/Teacher Conference Day) if you would like to shop with your child.  The attached flyer shows a sample of what will be available for sale.  In addition, if you would like to help in buying books for your child’s classroom, a teacher wish list will be available at the fair.  Profits from the fair will go towards purchasing new library books. SUMMER CELEBRATION

Students that completed the summer reading treasure map, Camp Wonderopolis, and/or the Summer Learning Academy were treated to a watermelon party and extra recess time today.  We are proud of our students that took extra initiative to learn more over the summer break!  Here are some pictures from the celebration:
