Read Across America 2026 at OES
During the week of March 2-6, we will
celebrate “Glowing and Growing with Reading” through special activities at
Oakland.
Monday: Let's
celebrate that reading makes our future BRIGHT.
Activity:
Wear neon colors or your favorite OES shirt because our students have a
bright future ahead!
Tuesday: Let's
celebrate that reading is RELAXING.
Activity:
Dress in your jammies (no slippers) & snuggle up with a
good book today.
Wednesday: Let's
celebrate that reading is ENTERTAINING.
Activity:
Dress up as your favorite book character (school appropriate).
Thursday: Let's celebrate that reading is AMAZING... and
so are you!
Activity:
Wear mismatched socks to celebrate
how our differences make us unique.
Friday:
Let’s
celebrate that reading is ACTIVE. Activity:
Wear your favorite baseball (or other sport) jersey and/or a baseball
cap. Slide into a good book – every
page is a homerun! BSHS baseball players will be visiting our 5K classes.
Students
will also receive a glow stick and a brightly colored bookmark
from the library. We are looking forward
to a fun-filled week!
