SCASL Conference - March 2017

I had a great time and a valuable learning experience at the annual conference for the South Carolina Association of School Librarians.  This year it was held in Greenville from March 22-24.

HAPPY CAMPER Book Fair

Oakland Elementary Book Fair

             Dear Parents,

  The Scholastic Book Fair will be held at OES on Monday, March 13^th through Friday, March 17^th (9am) in the Media Center.  Each classroom will be visiting the Book Fair for 25 minutes.  The schedule is listed below.  The Book Fair will also be open from 5:45-6:30 pm on Tuesday evening (prior to the PTA meeting) if you would like to shop with your child.  The attached flyer shows a sample of what will be available for sale.  In addition, if you would like to help in buying books for your child’s classroom, a teacher wish list will be available at the fair.  Profits from the fair will go towards purchasing new library books. Thanks for your support!

We also invite students to participate in CAMPER Day by dressing up in appropriate hiking/camping attire on Thursday, March 16^th!  “S’MORE Guesses” will be sold for $1 during the Book Fair, with all proceeds going to Relay for Life (see attached flyer).
